    This is the assigned textbook I use when teaching Introduction to Ecology and Evolution a 200 level course at an R1 university This course it taught by several different professors I teach the course to a small class during the fall semester, two different professors teach to 300 students during the spring semester, etc As such, I used this textbook because I wanted to be consistent with other professors teaching the course I supplement the textbook with reading assignments from Futuyma s Evolution and Freeman and Herron s Evolutionary Analysis The Economy of Nature , however, is our primary textbook.I agree with other reviewers that the graphics in the book are lovely Otherwise, I think Smith and Smith s Elements of Ecology is a far superior textbook Elements of Ecology has graphs of actual data, Economy has pictures Elements also uses examples that actually make sense in the context of the material bei...
